At a Circuit Court for Kanawha County held at the Court House thereof on the 23rd day of October, 1900.
This day personally came George Lowen, an Alien, who desires to become a citizen of the United States, and declared on oath that he is 22 years of age, that he was born in Asia and is a subject of the Sultan of Turkey.
And it appearing from satisfactory evidence that the said George Lowen has resided within the United States for more than three years next preceding his arrival at the age of twenty-one years, and has continued to reside therein up to the present time.
And it appearing by satisfactory proof, that for two years at least, before this date it has been and is now, bona fide, his intention to become a citizen of the United States and relinquish and renounce from all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever and particularly to the Sultan of Turkey.
And it appearing, by satisfactory proof, that the said George Lowen has resided within the said United States for five years, at least, and within the State of West Virginia for one year at least, that during that time he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same:
And George Lowen here declaring on oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State of Sovereignty whatever, and particularly of Turkey.
It is therefore ordered that the said George Lowen be admitted and declared to be a citizen of the said United States.
