I love this photograph of three proud Kfeirians.
I see a trio of men who are dignified, confident and share strong personal bonds.
From left to right are Abraham Joseph Bassett (1885-1949), Moses Habib Bassett (1880-1964) and Michael Kelly Bassett (1887-1966).
Abe and Moses were successful businessman, owning a confectionary (Williamson, WV) and a five-and-dime (Napoleon, WV), while Michael was an Optometrist (Toledo. OH). All were successful and all were proud of their heritage and their adopted country.
As a teenager I was sent to Dr. Mike. Besides teaching me how to do specific eye exercises, he talked to me in a sincere and kind voice about being proud of my family and my heritage.
