all about our

Scholarships

In 1963 the Kfeirian Brotherhood established the scholarship program with a committee headed up by John Sakikini, James Tweel, James Hanna, Joseph Bohir, Ernest Tweel, Phillip Bassett and Mary McCoy.

In 1964, the first two Kfeirian scholarships were rewarded to two very deserving students – Diann Michael who attended Marshall University and Lindsey Coleman who attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Since then the reunion foundation has continued to award student scholarship every year helping to build a bright future for these students.

Dylan Donley

My name is Dylan Donley, son of Kevin and Monica Donley, and the grandson of Mary Thabet. My family and I have been coming to the Kfeirian reunion for as long as I can remember. Having the opportunity to reconnect with family and enjoy all the traditions of the Kfeirian reunion is something I always look forward to.

In 2024 I graduated with honors from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School, where I discovered interests that include thrifting, bouldering, board games, D&D, and listening to music. Currently, I am enrolled at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. I am majoring in Interactive Design and Game Development, a field that works on all the art and design that is involved in creating a video game.

Growing up, some of my fondest memories are of my siblings and me rushing downstairs in the morning so that we can play a game together. With the skills I will be developing at SCAD I want to be able to bring that same joy to thousands of other people.

Thank you to the Kfeirian reunion and to everyone who has helped me as I pursue this goal at SCAD.

Hanna Saad

Hey, my name is Hanna Sadd. I graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta Georgia, in May 2023 with honors. I have lived in Marietta my whole life. I would not be who I am today without the never ending dedication and love from Jesus, my parents and family.

For my freshman year of college I attended Toccoa Falls College. Everything was great but I realized that I could no longer thrive there. I transferred to Dalton State College. I look forward to starting a new experience at Dalton State College as a roadrunner. I am majoring in Communications and social media management. Dalton State is connected with many businesses and strives to give students experiential learning. I look forward to using my skills in the community. Also, it is a bit closer to home where I can continue to attend church with my family.

My parent’s names are Greg and Cheryl Sadd and my Kfeirian Grandparents are Jameel Sadd and Louise Hanna Sadd. Although I never got to meet my grandmother, her memory lives on in the vivid stories of my aunts and uncles, and her hard work and dedication to her family continue to inspire me. I have slight memories of Jameel singing in the church choir and hanging out during coffee hour after church with his fanny pack full of juice boxes for my siblings and I.

I am excited to have received this scholarship.

Megan Slater

Hello! My name is Megan Slater. I am a graduate of Boyd County High School of Ashland, KY. As I embark on the next chapter of my academic journey, I am excited to be enrolling at Marshall University, where I will be majoring in Computer and Electrical Engineering. What truly captivates me about this field is its incredible diversity of opportunities, enabling me to explore a vast spectrum of professional pathways. The ability to have access to such a wide range of professional careers. Where there is the chance for creativity. Since childhood, I have always been one with a creative mind and I found it in art and painting.

I am excited for my academic journey to be continued with The Herd, and with all the amazing support of the reunion foundation and family, I am confident in my decision. One of the biggest aspects of this that I appreciate the most, is that I am able to say that my heritage has played such a huge role in my academic career from this point forward. With the unwavering support of everyone that participates in the reunion, all I can say is thank you.

As the daughter of Chad and Dani Slater, granddaughter of James and Cheryl Slater, and great-granddaughter of Paul and Jeanette (Cantees) McCoy, I have been blessed to be a part of the reunion for as long as I can remember. Because of this, I eagerly await the reunions of both this year gathering and the reunions that lie ahead!

I really cannot thank everyone enough, and I appreciate everything more than you know! Romans 5:21

Maxwell Pegram

My name is Maxwell Pegram, grandson of Larry and Charlotte (Sadd) Lechlak, son of Steve and Laura Pegram, and brother of Samia Pegram. I was born in Los Angeles, Calif. but grew up in the Lake Norman area north of Charlotte, N.C.

I recently graduated from Pine Lake Preparatory (Mooresville, N.C.) and decided to further my education at Indiana University and Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI). At IUPUI, I am majoring in Media Arts and Sciences with a specialization in 3D Modeling and Graphics. This way I can combine my strengths in math and art with my technical and detail-oriented thinking.

Dating back to the beginning of my 4th grade school year, my family was blessed to have my sittee (grandmother Charlotte) live with us until her passing in May 2020. Throughout those few years, she made sure to find time to impress upon my sister and I the importance of our Lebanese heritage and the sacrifices our ancestors made emigrating to the United States. She would also take over the duty of driving me to and from school and helping me when I struggled with homework. I am immensely grateful to her for guiding me down the right path in life and school.

I would like to give many thanks to the Kfeirian Reunion Foundation for the scholarship they have awarded me, as well as the many who have helped to support the Foundation.

Paul Dustin McCoy

My name is Paul Dustin McCoy and I went to Belfry High School of Belfry, Kentucky. My interests include sports, spending time with friends and family, and helping out in my community any way possible. I plan to go to Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jefferson, Indiana where I want to pursue Mortuary Science. My father Rodney McCoy passed away in 2021 same as my grandmother Jeanette Cantees McCoy. Until, my aunt Christy McCoy took me under her wing as soon as my dad passed away and she is now my guardian.

Nathan Sadd

My name is Nathan Sadd. I am honored to have been selected as a recipient of the Kfeirian Reunion Scholarship. Both my Lebanese heritage and my church have played an important role in shaping who I am today.

I recently graduated from Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Georgia, where I was actively involved in both academics and athletics. I graduated with Honors and was part of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar with Honor. My time at Blessed Trinity shaped me into a hardworking student-athlete and prepared me for the next chapter of my journey.

This fall, I am attending Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where I plan to study pre-law with the goal of one day entering the legal profession. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am excited to continue playing the sport I love as a member of the Rhodes College Lacrosse team, where I will be competing on an athletic scholarship.
