The Kfeirian Family Reunion hosted its 93rd Annual Kfeirian Reunion, bringing together nearly 140 family members for a vibrant celebration of heritage, community, and tradition in Charleston, WV. The event featured a blend of cultural activities, music, and Lebanese cuisine that honored the family’s rich history while. fostering new memories.

The reunion kicked off with two unforgettable evenings of haflis, with Amin and the Sultans setting the stage for joyous dancing and celebration. Attendees savored authentic Lebanese food served both nights, showcasing the Lebanese culinary traditions.
A highlight of the reunion was the presentation of six scholarships to outstanding family members pursuing higher education. The recipients were: Megan Slater – Marshall University, Dylan Donley – Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Hanna Sadd – Dalton State College, Max Pegram – Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Dustin McCoy – Mid-America College & Nathan Sadd – Rhodes College. These scholarships reflect the Kfeirian Family Club’s commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of its younger generation.
The reunion offered a variety of engaging activities, including a genealogy presentation that explored the family’s roots, durbukeh lessons, a jewelry-making session, and dabkeh dance lessons, which brought participants together in celebration of Lebanese culture. Family bingo added a fun, competitive spirit, while the much-anticipated Hummus Throwdown crowned Denise Mickel Russell as this year’s Hummus Queen. Additionally, a raffle and silent auction were held to benefit the Scholarship Fund and Kfeir Relief Fund, raising significant support for these important causes.
A special moment of the reunion was the unveiling of the Kfeirian Reunion Foundation’s new and improved website, showcasing enhanced features and resources to keep the community connected and informed.
During the General Assembly, members voted unanimously to join the Southern Federation at the summer convention in Orlando, Florida, for the 94th Annual Kfeirian Reunion in 2026. This decision marks an exciting step toward connecting with a broader community of Lebanese-American families. Additionally, new officers for the Board of Trustees were elected: Joseph Peck as President, Michael Abraham as Vice President, Denise Mickel Russell as Treasurer, and Thomas Bevins as Secretary.
93rd Annual Kfeirian Reunion was a testament to the enduring strength and unity of the Kfeirian family, blending tradition with forward-looking plans for the future. As the family prepares for next year’s milestone in Orlando, the memories made in Charleston will undoubtedly resonate for years to come.
